A week after surgery, I seem to be doing OK hopping along on one crutch. Thank you everyone who visited me - thank you Matt and Agnes, thank you Annie and Chong, thank you Bolek, thank you Xue Mei and your friend, thank you Maurine and Xavier, thank you Grazyna and Voytek, thank you Gregor from far Germany, thank you Mei Luo, thank you Liang and Ken, thank you Hui and Li. Thank you all for your time, your flowers, fruits, beer and nice beer glass - soon I will be able to enjoy nice weitzen in a nice weitzen glass. It was so thoughtful of you Hui and Li to buy me so much of this faboulous Polish sausage (for those who are familiar wih Polish sausages they bought me load of Krakowska and Polska).
It is not nice to be sick or recovering from surgery but it is nice to know that I have friends like you - thank you all again.

Surgery Day ! ;-((((
Well, we had to be in hospital early, to be exact at 6:00 am. After going through admission we went to Day Surgery department for more paper work and change into very sexy hospital attire. After a while we went to 7th floor - Surgery Department. Waiting room was already full of “today’s surgery victims”. Finally my anesthetist came for a chat which is standard procedure in Foothills (hospital where surgury took place and my place of employment as well - nomen omen). After agreeing to spinal anesthetic I kissed Limin goodbye and went with one of the nurses to OR (operating room). Man what a weird feeling, I have been in few Ors on this floor before, always working there but never in a capacity of a patient. Well, that’s life I guess. Under my own steam so to speak I sat on the OR table, had a small talk with anesthetist he gave me something to make me more relaxed, started spinal, had me lay down on the table started giving me something else and I was gone. Woke up again just before end of the surgery. As soon as I woke up i talked to Dr. Hutchison, my surgeon. I asked her if she removed the screws already, she came around and showed me the longest one (11 cm). Shortly after the whole thing was over. I spent next 3 hours in recovery room even though I was feeling OK. I had to stay there since they didn’t have any room in Day Surgery yet. After a while I ended up on NU41 which is Day Surgery, finally I was with Limin again. She fed me whole bunch of shrimp since I was so hungry. Ended up going home the same day due to “luck of available beds”……hehehehehehe GREAT !!!!!!

Possibly Last Supper - God’s willing if I make it out tomorrow there will be a lot to look forward to since today we gave down payment and signed contract for purchase of our new “toy” - 23′ Winnebago Itasca Motor Home. (Click here for pics)
In the afternoon we came to visit Liang and Ken and had wonderful dinner together - courtesy to magnificent Liang’s cooking and Liang’s and Ken’s hospitality (see pics). Well, what can I say - it was great as always and I did eat as if it was my last supper. This time Limin could not stop or limit me since it could be my last supper - tomorrow will be Surgery Day.

Last night we spent wonderful evening with Halina and Bolek having wonderful Polish dinner (click here for pics). As always in similar occasion I ate way too much. My dieting went a bit askew - this morning I was up almost 3 kg hence not breakfast or lunch for me today.

Well, back to the grind. Monday after wonderful Sunday. Yesterday we went fishing on McGregory Lake. We enjoyed beautiful weather and great fishing (have a look at those pics ….hehehe). You can read more about it in Even section.

Finally managed to call my dear friend Bolek in Poland. Good to know that all is well with him and his family. Limin had her classes, as she does almost all weekends.

Monday again and again nice day at work. Today is so called statutory holiday (Labour Day) so Ed is off hence I am all by myself here at work. Yes, we had GREAT time in Bellevue!!! For more particulars about our last mini holidays follow this link or go to Events.

Monday, back to work. Our morning was very busy (8 machines down) but by noon we got situation under control. Tomorrow I am starting my few days off. We are planing on going to Bellevue for almost a week. Bolek (my friend who lives in Calgary) is planning on joining us there for few days. The main goal during our mini holidays in Bellevue - do lots of fishing, see lots of movies and eat good food - pretty ambitious, isn’t it ?! ;-))))
