What’s new

May 6

Today while checking site www.nasza-klasa.pl I stum bled upon my elementary school in Gdansk. Wow, what nice “dicovery”. Immediately I signed up and send messages to all those who were listed in our class. I wrote earlier about this site, it is like facebook but different - people sign up in different classes they have attended through out their lives. After all those years and I mean almost 40 years since I gardutaed from my elementary school in June of 1969 - I met Grazyna, Elwira, Basia, Regina, Mirek, Andrzej i Zbyszek. It is amazing how well I remember them just how they were 40 years ago. It would be just grant to meet them again, I sure will try next time I am in Gdansk.

After morning breakfast at “Christina’s” we did some shopping in our “favorite” store - Bargain Store. Now I am proud owner of two pairs of brand new fancy shorts for my daily exercise sessions at hospital. Well, shorts were not the only thing we bought there although we managed to spend just under $ 100 which I consider quite an achievement. By 2 pm we were on our way back to Calgary.

May 3 - Bellevue

Our trip last night was rather uneventful. Matt came with us as planed but this morning we found out that both ski resorts - Fernie and West Castle are already closed for the season, too bad for him. He says that next weekend he’d go to Sunshine while we are planning to come back here again. This morning after hearty breakfast at “Christina’s” in Colman we went fishing. Beautiful spring-like weather, not too cold, not too windy - except like I suspected too early in the season so fish were rather reluctant to bite.Despite all that we were able to land our daily limit anyway. Limin looked kind of funny while fishing - fishing rod in one hand and medical book in another (she never stops her preparation for fall exam, that’s what I call dedication ;-)) ). For supper I cooked us some very Polish meal, potatos, fried sausages, vegetables - the usual. As always it was too good and too much at the same time….lol. I already fear Monday morning when I check my weight.

Finally it is Friday and today after work we are going to Bellevue after couple of months of not being there. Limin finally finished her English classes hence we can have weekend to ourselves. Even though weather does not look too promising if all goes well we will go fishing tomorrow. I am not too crazy about fishing that early in the season but Limin is pretty adamant about it so what the heck….hehehe. Looks like Matt is going with us, he plans to do some skiing or should I say snowboarding in either Fernie or West Castle.
